They are very active in helping the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered youth in our area. We realize that this is just one small step in what we hope to do for our vision of the future but it is a large one in heart and spirit. The Empowering Spirits Foundation, Inc. (ESF) is a non-profit, non-partisan grass-root based civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality. ESF members engage in service-oriented activities in communities typically opposed to equal rights. In working side-by-side with our non-LGBT neighbors they may come to see similarities rather than differences in each of us, and we can engage in dialogue through non-confrontational means to promote equality. Additionally, the ESF develops community awareness, collaborates with other coalitions, and empowers individuals and organizations to engage in the political process for equality through educational endeavors.

Organization Name: Phoenix Transgender Support
Phoenix Transgender Support is an open support group for Crossdressers, Transsexuals, Transgenderists and others in the gender community, their partners and supporters. Founded in 1986 by Holly Boswell and Jessica Britton, we are one of the oldest open groups in the Carolinas and the South. We are a nonsexual group open to gay/lesbian, straight, bi and nonsexual orientation. We are not a dating or swingers group. We meet bi-monthly in a safe and discreet location which is revealed to prospective members after a phone or in-person interview. We are active with the Southern Comfort Conference held yearly in Atlanta, GA. We offer group support in a safe and relaxing atmosphere, referrals to helping Professionals, and information about other groups and events in the Gender Community. We also network with other support groups around the country.
